Board of Directors

William B. Cashion - Chairman of the Board

Mr. Cashion previously served as a director of a very successful Federally insured bank in Alabama over a twenty-four-year period. He has been a business owner and operator for over 67 years. One of his current undertakings is the development of three large real estate sub-divisions.


James Benton - Director

Mr. Benton is the founder and President of J. Benton Construction, LLC and past President of Benton Construction Company, Inc. that has been building in the Virgin Islands since the late 1980's. He has completed many notable projects, including the Wyndham Margaritaville Vacation Club, Captain Morgan Rum Distillery, Limetree Beach Resort, Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino, The Westin St. John Resort and the Four Seasons Anguilla. In addition to private sector work, he has completed numerous projects for the Virgin Islands Port Authority, WAPA, viNGN, GERS, Dept. of Public Works, VIPD, Dept. of Homeland Security, National Park Service and the National Guard.

He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Good Hope Country Day School and past board member of the Virgin Islands Board of Land Use Appeals and Twin City Island Spirits, Inc. (Mutiny Island Vodka). Mr. Benton obtained a B.S. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and is an alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of Design having completed their Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate.


Michael Burgamy - Director

Mr. Burgamy has been a private investor since 2001. He was a director of CoBiz Financial Inc., a $3.6 billion-in-assets financial holding company headquartered in Denver, Colorado from 1998 to 2018. He was Chief Financial Officer and director of Colibri Holding Corp., a manufacturer of outdoor living products located in Denver, Colorado from 1997 to 2001.


James E. Crites - Director and CEO

Before serving as a founder and incorporator of MCB, Mr. Crites was Senior Vice President/Eastern Caribbean Region Credit Officer of FirstBank Puerto Rico. Prior to that, Mr. Crites was President and Chief Executive Officer of First Virgin Islands Federal Savings Bank from 1992 until 2000. He was a Managing Agent for the Resolution Trust Corporation from 1990 to 1992, and Vice President for Chemical Bank New Jersey from 1987 until 1990. Mr. Crites' banking career began in 1973 with the Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. He has been active in U.S. Virgin Islands business and civic activities for over 35 years. His activities have included, serving as President and Vice President of the Virgin Islands Bankers Association, President of the Institute of Teaching and Learning, Treasurer of Harmonic Lodge #356, Director of the Center for Independent Living, President and Secretary of the Rotary Club of St. Thomas, President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Antilles School, Inc., Campaign Chair for United way of St. Thomas/St. John, and Director for the Virgin Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America.


Manhar Desai – Director

Through experiences gained over fifty years career in the industry, Mr. Desai is one of the leading insurance experts in the USVI. Following graduation from Bombay University in 1971, with a Bachelors of Commerce, Mr. Desai held a wide range of positions in insurance industry of Mumbai, London and USVI. 


Manuel Gutierrez - Director

Manuel Gutierrez, Jr. was formerly the President of Centerline Car Rentals, Inc. which he founded 30 years ago. Mr. Gutierrez’s commitment to serving his community has led him to hold positions on several boards including SailVI, Virgin Islands Port Authority, Bank of St. Croix, St. Croix Foundation for Community Development, Virgin Islands Capital Resources, Virgin Islands Auto Rental Association, Virgin Islands Auto Rental Association-Self Insurance Trust Fund, St. Croix Chamber of Commerce and St. Croix Fuel Retailers Association.


Alda Monsanto - Director

Ms. Monsanto is retired. She is currently Director of the Virgin Islands Capital Resources, Inc. and a board member emeritus of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands. Prior to that Ms. Monsanto served as Chief Labor Negotiator for the United States Virgin Islands Government from 1983 to 1991, Training Coordinator for Career Exploration Programs for the St. Thomas/St. John Chamber of Commerce from 1981 to 1983, and Executive Director of the Virgin Islands Housing Authority from 1971 to 1980.


Merry Nash - Director

Ms. Nash is former owner and president of Islandia Real Estate, one of St. John’s leading full service real estate companies. She is now senior broker for the firm, with 25 years’ experience as a realtor armed with a keen knowledge of the industry and the Bank's marketplace having called St. John home for more than 50 years. Merry is an avid sailor and has served two terms as commodore of the St. John Yacht Club and is a former member of the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce.


Beverly Petrus - Director

Beverly Drew-Petrus was born and raised on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. She is a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School Class of 1990. Beverly obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Travel & Tourism from Webber College in Babson Park, Florida. She has worked in the hospitality industry as a Convention Coordinator at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef; Director of Marketing for the Hard Rock Cafe St. Thomas, VI. Beverly also served as the Marketing Director for the USVI Department of Tourism.

Beverly shares 27 years of marriage with her best friend & business partner Allie-Allison Petrus. They have two daughters Ki-Yanna & Ari-yanna Petrus. Currently, Beverly serves as the Vice President for their family owned businesses Subway, PG Gas stations, Petrus Plaza St. Thomas, Sbarro Restaurant, PG Gas station & Car Wash BVI, as well as Petrus Plaza BVI.
